3 WORKS TO DO IN MINISTRY IN THIS CENTURY

Man of God ministry is work. It is holy work, but it is still work. Many young ministers love the glory but run from the labor.

They desire the microphone but avoid the process. They want the crowd but reject the crushing. Yet every genuine move of God is built on men who understand kingdom labor.

Paul said, “I have labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me” (1 Corinthians 15:10).

Notice that Paul did not separate grace from labor. Grace does not replace work; grace empowers work.

If you will survive and thrive in ministry in this century, there are works you must embrace.

1. WORK HARD

there is no substitute for hard work in ministry.

Many people call laziness spirituality. They say, “If God wants it, He will do it.” That is not how the Kingdom operates.

Jesus walked from city to city.

Paul traveled through persecutions, shipwrecks, imprisonments, and sleepless nights.

The apostles preached until their bodies were exhausted.

The harvest has never been gathered by lazy men.

Proverbs 22:29 says:

“Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings.”

Diligence attracts divine promotion.

There are dimensions of ministry that prayer alone will not replace. Some things require labor.

The anointing flows best through prepared vessels.

Many ministers pray for revival but refuse to labor for souls.

My son, God blesses the work of your hands, not the wishes of your heart.

2. WORK SMART

Hard work without wisdom can produce exhaustion.

Many ministers are busy but not productive.

Activity is not the same as effectiveness.

Jesus fed five thousand people, yet He organized them into groups before serving them.

That was smart work.

Exodus 18:17-18 records Jethro telling Moses:

“The thing that thou doest is not good. Thou wilt surely wear away.”

Moses was hardworking but lacked structure.

learn systems.

Learn administration.

Learn leadership.

Learn technology.

Learn media.

Learn communication.

Learn delegation.

In this century, a minister who ignores knowledge will struggle.

The gospel does not change, but methods evolve.

Use technology to spread the gospel.

Use media to reach nations.

Use organization to maximize impact.

Do not spend ten hours doing what wisdom can accomplish in one hour.

Work hard, but work intelligently.

3. WORK IN THE SPIRIT

This is where many fail.

Some work hard.

Some work smart.

But few work in the Spirit.

Ministry is spiritual before it becomes physical.

Zechariah 4:6 says:

“Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the LORD.”

Without the Spirit, ministry becomes mere activity.

Without the Spirit, sermons become lectures.

Without the Spirit, churches become organizations.

Without the Spirit, ministry becomes entertainment.

The Holy Spirit knows where the harvest is ripe.

The Holy Spirit knows what message a generation needs.

The Holy Spirit knows hidden battles and unseen opportunities.

never become too educated to hear God.

Never become too busy to pray.

Never become too organized to follow divine leading.

The Spirit is still the greatest strategist in ministry.

A single instruction from God can achieve what ten years of human effort cannot produce.

if you desire to thrive in ministry in this generation:

Work hard like Paul.

Work smart like Joseph.

Work in the Spirit like Jesus.

Work on your character like Daniel.

Work on people like Christ.

Work on your knowledge like Ezra.

Work on evangelism like Philip.

Work on your secret place like Elijah.

The ministry that lasts is not built by gifted men alone. It is built by laboring men, wise men, Spirit-led men, disciplined men, and men who never stop growing.

May God make you a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth, and may your labor produce eternal results in Jesus’ Name
